Jurist, essayist and politician

José Ramón Recalde was born in San Sebastián in 1932. Doctor of Law from the University of the Basque Country, he was a professor and nowadays a retired teacher of the Business Studies Faculty of Deusto University in San Sebastián. Labour Lawyer, he was one of the founders of the Popular Liberation (better known as FELIPE).

He joined the Spanish Socialist Working Class Party and UGT. When the Basque Country´s Government pre-autonomous organ was created, he was named the Director of the Human Rights in the Regional Ministry.

Later he was an education counsellor, Universities and Research of the Basque Country´s Government from 1988 to 1991 and of Justice from 1991 to 1994.Among his papers Fe de vida stands out, Published in 2004 and from which he received the biography XVII Comillas Prize. Among his intellectual rehearsals stands out Integration and the fight of classes in the neo capitalism (1982), The nations construction (1982) and the Crisis and politic des-composition (1995).He is on the possession of the Constitutional Merit Order and the Great Cross of Alfonso X el Sabio.
