Industrial Engineer 

Degree in Engineering from the Higher Technical School of Engineers in Bilbao. Doctor in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica in Madrid. Graduate of the Instituto de Estudios de la Empresa (IESE) in the Senior Management Program. Lecturer at the University of Deusto.
With more than 50 publications in journals and national and international congresses, he has worked on various projects in Iberduero and Iberdrola, such as The National Electricity Programme, energy control systems, thermal-hydraulic coordination plans, R+D projects and company projects, etc... He is also a national and international advisor-consultant on all aspects of the electricity and energy sector and entrepreneurial leadership.
A former Vice-President of IBERDROLA and Chairman of GAMESA, his current occupation is as The President of the Association for the Revitalization of Metropolitan Bilbao (Bilbao Metropoli-30), President of the Altuna Foundation and Vice-President of the Encuentro Foundation, Member of the Board of Patrons of the COTEC Foundation, Full member of the Spanish Royal Academy of Engineering, Adviser to MAPFRE North and MAPFE Enterprises, GTD Adviser (Software Engineering Co.) and Adviser to the AMES Group.
He is also the Honorary Consul in Bilbao, a member of the Spanish Section of the Club de Roma, Full member of Real Sociedad Bascongada de los Amigos del País, Basque-Press Award, Puig Adam Medal (Foundation for the Promotion of Innovation), Gold Medal from the University of Deusto, Doctor Honoris Causa from the UPV / EHU, Full member of the Spanish Royal Academy of Engineering, "Exemplary Professional Career" award by the newspaper EUREKA.
